I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, celebrating the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ and His triumph over death and sin!
We had one beautiful summer-like day last week... hot enough for everyone to get in their bathing suits and make a big muddy mess of the lawn with the sprinkler! Holly was so excited and busy she wouldn't stand still for a picture, and then I ran out of batteries for the camera so I have no pictures of the other kids :(
Sandy & Luke were over for an afternoon... Holly was very interested in Luke but not so much the other way around. What a little sweetie he is and talking so well for 2 years old! Sandy really enjoyed playing with the other 5 girls around here.
Here's some pictures of the house progress for those of you who asked... The plumbing, roofing and garage floor were done this week and the heating is almost finished. Steve spend quite a bit of time installing the central vac and still has a few more evenings of work left on it. (I asked for central-vac rough-in and he is putting in a complete system instead.) It's been pretty crazy around here with all the decisions and work to be done with the house, and then the flu bug too. It's exciting to see the progress though. All the sudden it seems much more real.

The kids came up with this teeter-totter themselves :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURIE!!!! and may you have many more.
Great to see the progress on your house! If you get a spare bedroom ready, we'll book some tickets... jk
Love,
Curt and Jen
Laurie your kids are growing so fast!!! (& steve - i always forget to mention him :) ) they are adorable and the house looks AMAZING..you all must be so excited. i wouldn't worry about the "ubiquitious" - what is that? - "looming garage" - i like how you did the doors!! it is coming along so fast!! (at least it seems like it from here). its spectacular, really. when are you hoping to move?? glad that you are over the flu bug & hope you have a productive week!! :)
ps. how about that, 2 comments in one day :)
Thanks Curt & Jen & Carole! It's always nice to hear from you all. Yes, kids grow up so fast... almost in front of your eyes, huh? We have so few years with them. We feel really spoiled with this house... it certainly is more than we need but we are very excited and we hope to move in June or July. Our builder is very on-the-ball and all the sudden it struck us that it's going to be finished before we know it. And like I mentioned before, we have a SPARE BEDROOM :) (Actually, it's Emily's room but it is the company bedroom too).
Tickets are booked...
By the way, it's "eh" not "huh."
It is, huh? :)
Yay, an update! You've put some joy into this long day at school :) The kids pictures are so cute; makes me want to hug them. Holly has lost all of her rolls; gone is the Michilan Man! And the house looks gorgeous --what a wonderful lot of windows!
Yes, happy birthday! My wishes come a little late, and I remember that you sent yours promptly on my birthday last year. I'm not going to make this note long because this is the first time that I'm posting a comment, and I'm not absolutely sure that it will stick. I think it will. Of course, it's amazing that I can instantaneously post with a reach of thousands of kilometres. Curt and Jen have a nice blog picture, don't they? So does Ruth, for that matter!
Hmmm... I just TRIED to post a note that said it was going to be short because of my not being sure that it would properly post. It was not so short, however, and it did not post. Well, here is it's replacement. Unlike you--I remember your letter for my last birthday--I'm late with my wishes, but I do wish you a happy thirty-second year. (Am I allowed to say that here?) Most of the year still lies in front of you. God bless you and yours in it. Now I'll try my instantaneous global reach once more; hopefully the note will stick this time!
Thanks Jonathan. Yes, it's great to see updates from Ruth and Curt & Jen. You should start one too, and post all your emails on there :) Then you could add some pictures too. Just a thought. Do you have a digital camera?
