We went to my parents-in-law for lunch today. They just got back from a wonderful but very short vacation. Here's one of their memorable vacation pics; you can tell from their faces what a great time they had :)

Wow! I like that painting, Laurie. Your parents-in-law suit it well, and I mean that as a compliment--I like AMERICAN GOTHIC. I suppose they stood behind some cardboard with the rest of the painting in the background? However it was done, it's good. Congratulations! I hope you and Steve and your children are well.
Actually I superimposed their faces on the artwork on the computer. They did just go on vacation, but we haven't seen pictures yet. I thought their faces in an old picture suited it well.
Wow! Good job, Laurie. I first thought the same as Jonathan as well. One thing you could do is add a tattered straw hat to Mr.(or bald his head to match the original?!), add piece of grass in his mouth, and put a doily on the Mrs.
