My parents are here

...and they brought beautiful weather with them!

Child labor at its finest, ha ha. I guess sturdy Dutch kids are good for something :)

We never tire of visiting Washington Park, always so beautiful.

Another day we went up a boardwalk trail at Baker Lake, through a rainforest with beautiful old cedar trees, some around 700 years old. We discovered that rainforests often have very old trees because the climate is so wet that forest fires rarely occur. Also the trees often grow in long straight rows because they are taking advantage of the fertile remains of older fallen trees.

There were lots of blueberries & salmonberries to pick.

Mount Baker in the background!

I hope you take good care of Mom & Dad while they're there! :) I'm sure you will. Actually, thinking about that, it sounds a little bit backwards, for some reason. :)

I'm really looking forward to seeing everybody when I come in September!

I love Washington park, I haven't been able to get Travis there yet, but me and the kids have been twice. Both times we walked the 2 mile trail, and I have to admit that I had a hard time doing it when we went there a few weeks ago, but I really like it!

Looks like you're all having lots of fun. Sure wish we were there too! We miss you all.
Did Mom and Dad have a good time at Uncle Don's?

Yes, Dad & Mom had a good time at Uncle Don & Aunt Ria's. They also really enjoyed hiking on Mount Rainier with them (of course Mom's loaded with pictures). Today they are hiking with Uncle Gord & Aunt Carol.

Matt, we are so thrilled you're coming out soon!!!
