Company picnic

Our first time at Steve's company's annual picnic was a blast for the kids. It was more like a free fair actually (I guess there are perks to soaring gas prices... now you know where all the money's going :), but of course my camera batteries went dead. Pony rides, miniature golf, air-filled jumping/climbing thingies, train rides, unlimited free Schwaan's ice cream bars (the kids visited that quite a few times), frisbee painting, hay search, contests, and all kinds of good food. The kids liked the pony rides the best and they spent a good part of the day feeding them, petting them and riding them.

Boxes for packing... I don't know if I have any pictures of Joel where he's not pulling a crazy face?!?
Marie was not quite so thrilled, especially since Joel was throwing them all over the place.

Holly shooting her daddy, whom she IDOLIZES. I take care of her all day, change her diapers, read her stories, but he gets all the spontaneous kisses and hugs :) She goes nuts when he comes home. And the only word she clearly says is "Daddy", both syllables!
House pictures by request of my dear li'l sis... I should have waited 2 more weeks though because then the furniture would be in. This is the family room; we are going to add a wood mantle to the fireplace (eventually?); the wood-storage closet next to it was a last-minute addition by our accommodating building superintendent.
Kitchen with bar and a nook behind it
living room (see the hill in the top windows? we love the view)
master bath
nook again
The yard obviously needs a little work... most of those trees blew down last winter and need to be cut up for firewood. We get a lot of wind in the winter. Past the hedge of tiny emerald greens there was an old shack that is now gone thanks to a big tree last winter. Bye bye neighbors! (They found a new place to rent, they didn't die)
The road in front of our place is very quiet; we are the only traffic on this part since it is a circle.

Our lovely burn pile, which isn't going anywhere now that there is a burn ban :(
